Canjet Airlines check-in

How can I check-in for a Canjet flight?

When traveling on a Canjet flight, you can only check-in at the counter. An online check-in service is not offered.

When must I check-in for my Canjet flight?

Arriving at the airport 3 hours before your departure time allows you to comfortably check-in, receiving a boarding card, and pass checkpoints. Passengers must be checked in no later than 2 hours in advance of the scheduled departure time of the flight.

Counter Check-in

Passengers may check in 3 hours before the estimated departure time of the flight, as the passengers that arrive after that time may not be eligible for denied boarding compensation and lose the reservation. All the counters close 1 hour before the departure time. If you’ve gotten the Canjet Select service, you are entitled to a Priority Check-in.

Seat Selection

Even though you cannot check-in online, you can select/purchase your seat online up to 48 before the estimated departure time. If you don't select/buy a seat, you will receive seats assignments at the check-in counter or gate on a first come, first serve basis. If you purchase the Canjet Select service, you are entitled to select a seat. The fees for seats are as follow:

  • $ 45 CAD – seats in the emergency exit row and bulkhead seats.
  • $ 20 CAD – window seats.
  • $ 15 CAD – seats that aren't the ones mentioned above.

Passengers with disabilities will receive advance seat selection free of charge upon booking their seat through Canjet’s Call Centre. In order to get the seat you want, you must have the following:

  • Confirmation number together with your first and last name, as listed on your itinerary.
  • Your origin and destination city.
  • The documentation required to travel to your destination country.
  • In case you're traveling to the U.S., you need to have the destination address.

Documentation for travel

As you should know, you are entirely responsible for determining and complying with entry requirement for your destination. Regardless of your destination, it is recommended to travel with a valid passport. Canjet will require 5 basic information facts from their passengers (this information will be sent to the customs officials before takeoff): official first and last name, date of birth, gender, citizenship, and travel document number. If you are travelling to the United States, you are required to provide the full address (including zip code) where you will be staying. In the case you are connecting to a cruise ship, you should provide the name of the cruise ship and city/state of point of embarkation. If you don’t provide sufficient or correct documentation, you will be denied boarding and you won’t be eligible for denied boarding compensation. You must check with your travel agent and the consulate of the country you’re visiting to find out the accurate requirements.

Traveling to Canada

If you are a permanent Canadian resident that lives in Canada, in addition to the passport, you are required to hold a Permanent Resident Card as it is the only Permanent Resident status document valid for re-entering Canada by commercial carrier.

Traveling to/from the United States

If you are not a Canadian or U.S. citizen, you are eligible to use the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), which is an electronic system, fully automated intended to screen passengers before they begin the travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VPW). You can learn more about ESTA on the DHS customs and Border Protection (CBP) website.

Traveling to Cuba

If you are Canadian, in addition to your passport, you are required to have a tourist card (visit the Cuban government for more information). You are also required to have a proof of travel insurance for coverage of medical expenses.
