Does Air Mauritius allow passengers to travel with their pets?
On Air Mauritius flights, pets may be carried in the aircraft hold (as checked baggage) subject to fulfilling all the special conditions. To confirm acceptance of your animal, you must contact the nearest Air Mauritius Office.
What general conditions apply for acceptance of pets as checked baggage?
Air Mauritius may accept for carriage animals such as cats, dogs, birds and other pets. If Air Mauritius agrees to carry your pet, it will be carried subject to the following conditions:
- You must ensure that the pet is properly crated and accompanied by valid health and vaccination certificates, entry permits, and other documents required by countries of entry or transit.
- The pet (together with its container and food) will not be included in your free baggage allowance. The container shall constitute excess baggage, and you will have to pay the applicable excess baggage fee.
Carriage of animals may be subject to additional conditions specified by Air Mauritius.
On Air Mauritius flights, Guide Dogs accompanying passengers with disabilities are carried free of charge (in addition to the normal free baggage allowance). The carriage of Guide Dogs is subject to special conditions. To obtain more information about these conditions, you must contact the nearest Air Mauritius Office.
