Is it necessary to reserve a seat for my baby when flying with Air Tahiti Nui?
If your baby is up to 2 years old, you only have to inform Air Tahiti Nui that you will be traveling with an infant on your lap. Each adult is only allowed to hold one child on lap, and seats must be purchased for additional infants, no matter their age. Even when traveling with only one baby, you can always choose to purchase a seat for your baby as long as you have a proper restraint device.
Does Air Tahiti Nui offer discounts for babies and children?
The fare for babies under 2 years old booked as infants is 10% of the applicable fare at the time of booking. The infant will not have their own seat to sit in. If you want your baby to travel in a separate seat, you will need to purchase the child fare, and the infant will have to be seated in an approved forward-facing car seat.
Children aged 2 to 11 qualify for the child fare which is 75% of the applicable fare at the time of booking. A baby who reaches 2 years old during the journey will need to travel in a reserved seat, and the applicable fare will be the child fare for the entire journey. If necessary, the baby may be seated in an approved forward-facing car seat. In this case, the baby will benefit from the standard baggage allowance corresponding to the reserved class of travel.
