Aircalin minors flying alone

Does Aircalin offer Unaccompanied Minor Service?

Yes, Aircalin allows you to book the Unaccompanied Minor Service for your kid(s). The child will be taken care of by Aircalin staff from check-in to arrival.

What is the required age for a child to qualify as an Unaccompanied Minor?

From its 5th anniversary, a child may travel alone as an Unaccompanied Minor. The Unaccompanied Minor service is mandatory for children between 5 and 12 years old.

From its 12th anniversary, a child is considered independent and capable of traveling alone without any particular assistance. However, on Tokyo, Osaka, and Seoul routes, Aircalin offers young passengers aged between 12 and 17 the possibility to be treated as Unaccompanied Minors.

Unaccompanied Minor Service

Booking through the Internet is not possible for Unaccompanied Minors. You must contact Aircalin’s commercial services to assess the procedures to be followed. There is an additional fee for the Unaccompanied Minor service (for example, 90 Euros one-way between France and Noumea), and, depending on the fare purchased, the child discount may apply or not.

It is recommended to arrive for check-in at least 30 minutes prior to check-in deadline, and mention to Aircalin’s agents that your child is traveling alone, as an Unaccompanied Minor. The child must have its own passport and visas and may not use a parent’s passport (though the child is registered on it). Upon arrival, the person who will collect the child must produce an identity document for Aircalin’s ground staff.
