***For the Basic fare, you can book the “2 Cabin Bags & Priority Boarding” option from €10 to bring a large cabin bag on board and be among the first passengers to board the plane.

Any item exceeding these weight and size restrictions must be checked at the counter and transported in the hold, subject to checked baggage fees, if applicable. If you get at the boarding gate with excess hand baggage, it will be transferred for transportation in the hold as an additional bag for a fee.

What is Eurowings’ policy on checked baggage?

Some fares include a free checked baggage allowance. When you have booked a fare that doesn’t include a free baggage allowance, you may register checked baggage upon payment of a fee.

Up to five items of baggage per passenger may be checked at the desk. Each item must not exceed 32 kg in weight. Checked baggage may be registered during the booking process or afterward. Services, such as registering baggage, excess baggage, and/or sporting equipment, may be added to a booking up to the Web Check-in deadline::

  • Online, on the Eurowings website, using the mobile portal or via the Eurowings app.
  • Through Eurowings call center.
  • At the airport.

Once registered, you cannot deselect the baggage you have added to your booking. Once you have checked in online, baggage can be registered only at the airport counter, where higher charges may apply.

Baggage Service

If your checked baggage is missing when you arrive at the destination airport, you must go straight and report the incident at the Eurowings luggage office in the arrivals area or online. Eurowings cannot process claims at a later date. You can use Eurowings’ online baggage tracing system to check the status of your missing baggage. For complaints regarding damaged baggage, you must inform Eurowings as soon as you discover the damage, but no later than 7 days after claiming the baggage.
