Volar con bebes en OpenSkies

Can I hold my baby on lap on OpenSkies flights?

Infants aged under two are allowed to travel sitting on an adult’s lap. The infant fare is 10% of the adult fare and is charged when the infant does not have his/her own seat.

Children 2 years of age and older must travel in their own seat. If your baby reaches two years of age during the journey, your child will need his/her own seat for any flights on and after his/her 2nd birthday. However, there is no charge for this, and you will still pay the infant fare for the entire journey.

Can I reserve a separate seat for my baby?

Only infants aged between 6 and 23 months may travel in a separate seat, sitting in a car seat. If you would like your baby to sit in his/her own seat, you must pay the child fare (offered for children aged between 2 and 11 years). Booking a seat for an infant is not available online.

You can find more information on traveling with babies and children on OpenSkies flights in British Airways – Babies.

Traveling with Babies

When you travel with your baby on your lap, you can reserve seats free of charge, for yourself and everyone in your booking. For babies who weigh no more than 12.5 kg (27.5 lbs), OpensSkies offers child seats and carrycots free of charge, but subject to availability on board the aircraft. You can reserve a seat at a carrycot position in advance.

If you decide to purchase a separate seat for your infant, or you’re travelling with a child who is less than 3 years old, you must use your own forward-facing car seat.

When you travel with an infant, you can take with you in the passenger cabin one bag for the items that your infant may require during the flight. Also, in addition to your free checked baggage allowance, you can also bring one checked bag for the infant, one fully-collapsible pushchair (stroller) and one car seat.
