What is TUIfly policy on hand baggage?
On all TUIfly flights, the free hand baggage allowance consists of one piece of hand baggage plus one laptop computer. The maximum weight is 6 kg, and the maximum dimensions are 55 x 40 x 20 cm.
What is TUIfly policy on checked baggage?
Only the Perfect fare includes a free baggage allowance of 20 kg. For passengers traveling together, the total weight of checked baggage may not exceed the free baggage limit of 20 kg per piece of baggage.
The Pure fare does not include a free checked baggage allowance.
Passengers with a TUI Gold Card have a free baggage allowance of 30 kg for up to 6 passengers in the booking (including the cardholder, and regardless of age).
In order for TUIfly to accept it as checked baggage, each piece of baggage must weigh no more than 32 kg and measure no more than 80 x 65 x 45 cm (special rules apply for special baggage, sporting equipment, and pet carriers).
Excess Baggage Fees
For flights operated by TUIfly, passengers can book excess baggage online during the booking process or afterwards, up to 2 hours before departure. Each passenger can check up to 5 pieces of baggage. For an additional fee of € 5 per booking procedure, baggage can be registered in advance by calling the TUIfly Service Centre. The fee for additional pieces of baggage that are registered for the first time at the check-in desk is higher than the fee charged when booking online.
For all TUIfly flights, the following excess baggage fees will apply when exceeding the free baggage allowance:
|Pure Fare||Perfect Fare|
|1st piece||Each additional piece*||1st piece||Each additional piece*|
|Online||At the airport||Online||At the airport||Online||At the airport||Online||At the airport|
|*The fee is charged starting with the second piece even if the total weight of the pieces of baggage does not exceed 20 kg, which is the maximum weight for the free baggage allowance.|
An overweight fee of € 10/kg will be charged at the airport if the first piece of baggage exceeds the free baggage weight, as well as if an additional piece of baggage exceeds the weight with which has been registered.
Special Baggage and Sporting Equipment
Special baggage weighing more than 50 kg per piece will only be accepted if a written confirmation by TUIfly is presented. As an exception, if special baggage that has not been registered is accepted at check-in, an additional service fee of € 25 must be paid directly at the airport.
Only sporting equipment packed separately will be accepted on TUIfly flights as sports baggage. Other equipment will be transported as excess baggage only. If the piece of sports baggage exceeds the maximum weight indicated below, the overweight baggage fee of € 10/kg will apply.
Sporting equipment must be booked in advance. Sporting equipment up to a maximum weight of 30 kg can be transported on TUI fly flights for a fee of € 65 per piece, per route.
Passengers whose luggage has been damaged or is lost must contact the Lost & Found office of the respective airline. In the event of damaged baggage, the passenger must notify TUIfly of this damage immediately, or, at the latest, within 7 days from the date of receipt. In the event of delayed baggage, the passenger must notify TUIfly immediately. If TUIfly is not notified of the delay at least within 21 days after the baggage has been made available, any claim is excluded.
