TUIfly Baggage and Carry-on

What is TUI fly policy on hand baggage?

On all TUI fly Deutschland flights, the free hand baggage allowance consists of one piece of hand baggage plus one personal item.

The piece of hand baggage must not exceed maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20 cm. The maximum weight depends on the route:

  • Short-haul & medium-haul – 6 kg.
  • Long-haul – 8 kg.
  • Long-haul plus Premium Seat – 10 kg.

The personal item may be a laptop bag, handbag, coat, blanket, umbrella, small camera or binoculars, books and magazines for reading, duty-free items in a bag.

For flights operated by other airlines (e.g., Condor, Corendon Airlines, Eurowings, Lufthansa, etc.), you must check the hand baggage regulations of the respective airline.

What is TUI fly policy on checked baggage?

Only the Perfect fare includes a free baggage allowance of 20 kg. The free baggage allowance also applies to children (2-11 years) and infants (0-1 years). The booking of a Premium Seat on a long-haul flight increases the baggage allowance to 30 kg. Passengers traveling together (the same booking number) can pool or share their baggage allowances, but cannot check more than one piece per passenger or exceed the maximum weight per piece of 32 kg.

The Pure fare does not include a free checked baggage allowance.

Passengers with a TUI Gold Card have a free baggage allowance of 30 kg for up to 6 passengers in the booking (including the cardholder, and regardless of age).

Checked Baggage

In order for TUI fly Deutschland to accept it as checked baggage, each piece of baggage must weigh no more than 32 kg and measure no more than 80 x 65 x 45 cm (special rules apply for special baggage, sporting equipment, and pet carriers).

Excess Baggage Fees

For flights operated by TUI fly Deutschland, passengers can book excess baggage online during the booking process or afterwards, up to 2 hours before departure. Each passenger can check up to 5 pieces of baggage. For an additional fee of € 5 per booking procedure, baggage can be registered in advance by calling the TUI fly Service Centre. The fee for additional pieces of baggage that are registered for the first time at the check-in desk is higher than the fee charged when booking online.

The following excess baggage fees will apply when booking and paying for excess baggage in advance:

Baggage Service

Passengers whose luggage has been damaged or is lost must contact the Lost & Found office of the respective airline. In the event of damaged baggage, the passenger must notify TUI fly of this damage immediately, or, at the latest, within 7 days from the date of receipt. In the event of delayed baggage, the passenger must notify TUI fly immediately. If TUI fly is not notified of the delay at least within 21 days after the baggage has been made available, any claim is excluded.
