General presentation

The B777-300 is one of the largest aircraft in the Emirates fleet. It has a total seating capacity of 380-434 passengers in a two or three class layout. It is a long-haul plane and is used on trans-continental routes.
These aircraft are currently being updated to provide greater comfort and a new 500 channel entertainment system. Emirates has enhanced its inflight entertainment systems on all Emirates Airbus A340-500’s and select Boeing 777-200’s and 777-300ER’s. Scheduled to be installed on Emirates entire existing fleet very soon, “ice” is a complete, integrated package with movies, TV channels, radio, music, advanced communication facilities and travel information, allowing you to select your preference at the touch of the screen, and at any time during the flight. With more than 100 movies to choose from, 50 TV channels, 350 radio and CD channels and over 40 games on ice you’re sure to find something to entertain you throughout your flight.
Keep in touch by phone, email or SMS from the comfort of your seat while receiving replies direct to your TV screen with Emirates satellite communications system. Satellite calls cost just US$5 a minute to anywhere in the world and can be paid for with any major credit card, or a phone card purchased onboard. You can even chat to friends, family and colleagues in-flight with the seat to seat calling facility.

I took this journey the first time on my own as a 14 year old last summer, 2013. The flight from Bham to Dubai was extremely satisfactory, I have flown regularly since a toddler with my parents, and experiencing flying on my own, the journey was absolutely fantastic. The flight on the way back however did not near match up to the flight to Dubai, as it was an older plane. The TV was not as good, which as a teenager is absolutely crucial (haha!). Staff were brilliant, on board and in airport. Emirates is definitely one of the best. I am flying again in April 2014, and taking a friend who has never flown with an airline such as emirates, nor on a long haul flight. I will post another review with input from his behalf, it may be interesting as I think I have his hopes high!
*always fly economy.

In Emirates First Class, on board their B777's you will find a mini-bar, as well with a magazine rack and a movable personal screen on a side panel from your seat. The seat, itself in not as much luxury as other airlines offer in this aircraft model, but the amenities and attentions are much better, just this mini-bar idea is great! Take a look at the picture to know what I'm talking about.

The leg room is quite spacious (considering that i'm asian) but the seat is quite small between the other passenger. The ice quite nice but it's kinda the late edition so it's slow and the collection of their movies and songs is kinda different with the others. But there is a flight attendant who is not very friendly, she was kind of disgusted with the passengers in front of me because they keep asking for some liquor. and sometimes she was yelling a bit.

Seat is relatively ok, not too close to the toilets so relatively quiet. The seat itself is rather firm and after a few hours I started to get some minor aches and pains but nothing too severe. Legroom is sufficient for someone of average height however with 10 seats abreast on this aircraft the seats are noticeably narrower than other aircraft. If the seat next to you was occupied you would quickly notice how little width you have.

I am 180cm tall, and "wide". Legroom was great, as in any plane from Emirates. However seat width was much narrower than in an A380: you can sit confortable but forget to open your legs too much or balance your body to left or right, not even in aisle seat. However, general opinion was ok considering what you find in other airlines.

Entertainment was ok but not as good as in A380

Emirates new coach class seats are great for longe range flights. Generously sized seats have personal entertainment system in their back. There are serveral general screens as well. In flight service is average.

I fly this route three times a year and while this aircraft is a great improvement on the tired Airbus A320 they used to use it is miles behind the A380 I use to carry on my journey from Dubai to Sydney.

The food and beverage service is however excellent and the ICE system is second to non.

There was an entertainment box under the front seat. Had too place 1 foot strategically between the plane body and the window box and the other foot on the other side.

I am5"4 . This won't work for a taller person.

Tall people avoid

Ce n'est pas un honneur pour votre compagnie de mettre 10 sièges de front en classe eco. Les meilleures compagnies se contentent de 9 sièges, ce qui compte tenu de la largeur de la cabine est grandement assez. Vive l'A380!!!

Try to avoid row 48. Seating space in this row is very limited and cramped. Reclining the seat is not possible due to the lavatory wall behind the seats.
